Anil, an awkwardly shy Indian teenager who works in his family’s Indian grocery store, dreams of becoming a Samurai warrior.
One day, a Samurai walks into the store, and Anil’s dream becomes his reality. But will Anil’s world accept an Indian Samurai?
With the visual style of Napolean Dynamite, and the story sense of Bend It Like Beckham, this project deals with criss-crossed
cultural identity, and the humor that stems from these situations.
The film, to be shot in and around the LA area, is a USC thesis film that is being funded entirely by the goodwill of friends,
family, and non-profit organizations.
